Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Officers say they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then found multiple other marked cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are not yet aware of any harm in relation with the event," they added.
Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the public for information.
An important political figure said the incident made him stunned and needed to be solved rapidly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
